Worcester County Bar Association

About Us

Moses

The Worcester County Bar Association is a voluntary association of over 1100 members.  The purpose of the association is to maintain the honor of the profession, to promote the administration of justice, to advance the science of jurisprudence, to promote legal education and to foster and encourage cooperation and good fellowship among the members of the bar.

The Worcester County Bar Association has been serving Worcester County lawyers and the Worcester County community since 1887.  We offer programs and services of interest and assistance to attorneys and the community at large.  The Worcester County Bar Association continues to be a leader in its effort to serve its members and the community.  The many programs sponsored by the WCBA continue to grow in number, as does the respect for the organization.

Among our community programs are the Lawyer Referral Service, Speakers Bureau,  Mock Trial Presentations, Essay Contest and our annual Dial-A-Lawyer Program. We co-sponsor the Volunteer Lawyer Service, Lawyer for the Day Program and the Honorable Harry Zarrow Homeless Advocacy Program.

For our members, the WCBA has over 20 committees and 13 sections, which keep members appraised of new legislation and current practices in a specific area of law.  Numerous continuing legal education programs are sponsored throughout the year and most are offered at no cost to our members.  The WCBA publishes Legal Lines, a monthly Newsletter that keeps members informed of our activities, programs and current events.  The WCBA offers numerous social events throughout the year.  We offer disability, life, long-term care, dental and health insurance plans to our members.  The WCBA maintains a Lawyer Referral Service, Mentor Program, Lawyer Emergency Assistance Plan, District and Superior Court Conciliator Programs.

The Executive Committee is the governing body of the Worcester County Bar Association and is composed of our president, president-elect, secretary/treasurer, past president (ex officio) and fifteen other members of the association.  The members elect all of these positions.

The Worcester County Bar Association office is located at 19 Norwich Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.  The facilities are open to members to use for meetings and conferences.  Operating hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  You may reach the WCBA office by calling (508) 752-1311 or you may e-mail us at lrsinfo@worcestercountybar.org
