special offer on wcba membership
One of President Edward P. Ryan's goals for the year is to increase membership in the Worcester County Bar Association. With that initiative in mind, the Executive Committee of the Worcester County Bar Association at its meeting held on November 15, 2016, approved a one-time offer on WCBA Membership.  Any attorney that either works or lives in Worcester County that is not a current member of the Worcester County Bar Association and has not been a member of the WCBA for the past two years, can join the Association any time between now and December 15, 2016 and receive the following:
Join on or before December 15, 2016 and receive the remaining portion of this fiscal year and all of next fiscal year for the cost of this year's dues.  You will not be invoiced for WCBA dues again until August 2018.  Please don't hesitate or you will miss out on this great opportunity.  We have to strictly adhere to the deadline - application and payment must be received by the 15th of December.  The offer is valid for individuals that join during this time period only.  Free memberships do not apply.
Current WCBA members can assist by spreading the word on this offer to colleagues that may not be current members.
A membership application can be found on this website.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the WCBA office at 508-752-1311.  Thank you.
 President's Holiday Reception

The date has been set for the WCBA PRESIDENT'S HOLIDAY RECEPTION.  The reception will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at Maxwell Silverman's, 25 Union Street, Worcester. This is a very enjoyable event where many of our members come together to celebrate the holiday season and to relax and enjoy one another's company.

You can download the registration form here.  We hope you will be able to join us to welcome in the holiday season.

In the holiday spirit of giving, the WCBA is collecting toys to be donated to Friendly House, Inc., Worcester.

Please drop off you new, unwrapped toy or book to the WCBA office, 370 Main Street, Suite 975, Worcester or to the Registry of Deeds, 90 Front Street, Worcester, during regular business hours between now and December 15, 2016.  We are collecting gifts for children between the ages of birth and 16 years old.  You may also bring a new toy or book to the Holiday Reception and Santa's Helpers will be sure it is delivered to the Friendly House.

Due to the generosity of WCBA members, last year's Toy Drive was a huge success.  We hope to be able to continue the tradition this year.  Thank you.

The Law Day Committee is accepting nominations for the MBA Community Service Award for Worcester County and the WCBA Liberty Bell Award.  Both awards are presented as part of our annual Law Day celebration at a breakfast scheduled for Law Day, May 1, 2017.

Many members of the bar devote countless hours of their time and talent to community activities.  This annual award is one way of recognizing those achievements.  Please take the time to nominate one of your colleagues for this prestigious award.

Please contact the WCBA office at 508-752-1311 for information on the criteria for the awards and the nomination process.

Don't forget the next Young Lawyers Networking event is scheduled for the first Wednesday of the Month, December 7, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Volturno Restaurant, 72 Shrewsbury Street, Worcester.  You don't have to be a young lawyer to attend, just young at heart, ALL are welcome to attend.

As a WCBA member you have access to our Mentor Program. We have over 75 experienced attorneys covering a wide variety of practice areas. These attorneys are available to assist you with questions you may have within a particular practice area, practical advice, and/or information on law office management, etc.

If you are a current member of the Worcester County Bar Association and you wish to utilize the services of this program, contact the WCBA office at 508-752-1311 and we will be happy to provide you with the name of an attorney to assist you. It's that simple!
