Speakers Bureau: Members of the Worcester County Bar Association are available to speak at community and business organization's meetings on various aspects of the law. This program also provides speakers to Worcester County schools for career days and school assemblies.
Lawyer Referral Service: The Worcester County Bar Association established the Lawyer Referral Service to assist individuals who are looking to hire a private attorney but do not know who to call. Through this program we are able to refer the public to attorneys that practice in Worcester County who can provide legal representation in the area of law the individual needs assistance in. Referrals can be provided in most areas of law.
Reduced Fee Program: Members of the Worcester County Bar Association provide legal assistance to residents of Worcester County for a reduced fee. Clients must fill out an application and fall within financial guidelines to be eligible. Not all areas of law are handled through this program.
Volunteer Lawyer Service: The Volunteer Lawyer Service is a jointly sponsored program of the Massachusetts Justice Project and the Worcester County Bar Association. Members of the Bar provide pro bono legal assistance to low income residents of Worcester County in some areas of civil law. Clients must meet financial eligibility guidelines and the case matter has to fall within the Volunteer Lawyer Service priority list.
Honorable Harry Zarrow Homeless Advocacy Project: This program is a cooperative effort between Community Legal Aid and the Worcester County Bar Association. Through this program legal services are provided to the homeless community at various shelters in Worcester County.
The Lawyer for the Day Program: The Lawyer for the Day Program is co-sponsored by Community Legal Aid and the Worcester County Bar Association. This program assists pro se litigants in the Worcester Probate and Family Court.
Mock Trial Presentations: Mock trial presentations are held at local high schools and other locations throughout the county.
Services To The Poor And Homeless Committee: This committee sponsors various events for the needy in Worcester County. Their annual events include a clothing drive and a dinner served at a homeless shelter. The Committee publishes a monthly wish list for area shelters. Local attorneys respond to the wish list by making donations of the various items that are needed by the organization.
Legal Fee Arbitration Panel: The legal fee arbitration panel of the Worcester County Bar Association helps to resolve disputes between attorneys and their clients over legal fees.
Law Day Committee: The Law Day Committee of the Worcester County Bar Association sponsors annual programs in celebration of the law. Those programs include mock trials for local high schools, an essay contest for eighth grade students in Worcester County, a dial-a-lawyer program and sponsorship of a naturalization ceremony.
